HEC Strengthens International Academic Ties through Faculty Exchange Programme

ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,HEC continues to bolster international academic collaboration through its Faculty Exchange Programme, a key component of the Pak–Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme.Under this initiative, Dr Rafia Rafique, Director of the Institute of Applied Psychology at Punjab University and President of the Pakistan Psychological Association, successfully concluded a twelve-day academic visit to the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.During the visit, Dr Rafique engaged with Vice Chancellor Dr Terrence Madhujith and senior academic hosts to discuss HEC initiatives, including joint publications and collaborative research activities. She delivered a special lecture on strategies for thriving in faculty and student mental health and led sessions on multicultural counselling, curriculum development, and emerging psychology research trends. Discussions also advanced the feasibility of student exchanges, online teaching modalities, and psychology accreditation processes between the two nations.This faculty exchange aims to promote knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and capacity building between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Highlighting future opportunities, Dr Rafique underscored prospects for HEC-supported webinars and sustained academic exchanges that will continue to foster a collaborative research ecosystem across the region.
