Advancing Judicial Excellence: National Judicial Educators Conference 2026 

ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Federal Judicial Academy (FJA), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and with funding support from the European Union under the Deliver Justice Project, convened the Second Annual National Judicial Educators Conference in Islamabad.This conference brought together judicial educators from across Pakistan for a focused two-day dialogue aimed at developing a unified training curriculum for newly inducted judges. The initiative stems from the recommendations of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee on District Judiciary Reforms.Central to the deliberations was a transformative six-month Joint Judicial Training Programme. Under this model, newly appointed judges would first undergo four months of specialized training at their respective Provincial Judicial Academies, focusing on applied judicial competencies such as judgment writing, mediation, and effective case management. This would be followed by two months at the Federal Judicial Academy dedicated to technology integration, language proficiency, creative writing, and stress management, thereby equipping judges with both practical expertise and the professional skills necessary to meet contemporary challenges.Through intensive group discussions and thematic sessions, participants explored practical pathways for harmonizing induction-level judicial training curricula across jurisdictions. The deliberations reflected a shared resolve to ensure consistency, quality, and coherence in judicial education nationwide, while aligning training standards with the evolving needs of justice delivery.In the closing ceremony, the Worthy Director General, FJA, commended the active engagement and thoughtful contributions of all delegates. He observed that the Conference reaffirmed a collective national commitment to judicial excellence and laid a strong foundation for a unified, modern, and inclusive judicial education framework. Earlier the opening ceremony was graced by Ms. Una Kelly, First Secretary (Rule of Law), European Union Delegation to Pakistan, and Ms. Shahzada Ahmad, Programme Manager, Rule of Law Programme, UNDP Pakistan, reflecting the strength of national and international partnerships in advancing rule of law initiatives.
