Day-7 of PPST 2026 at KPJA: Advancing Judicial Assertiveness and Mediation Mastery.
PESHAWAR:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The academic proceedings for Day-7 of the Pre-Promotion Statutory Training (PPST) at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) focused on the critical themes of judicial authority and effective dispute resolution. The 24 participating Senior Civil Judges and A’ala Ilaqa Qazis engaged in a specialized session on Judicial Assertiveness and the Power of Contempt: Practice and Procedure, led by Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General of KPJA. This session emphasized that an assertive judiciary is a fundamental attribute for maintaining judicial independence and ensuring the dispensation of inexpensive and expeditious justice.The remainder of the day was dedicated to Promoting ADR in the Formal Justice System, specifically focusing on Mediation and Best Practices. Mr. Muhammad Shahzar Ilahi from the Legal Aid Society served as the resource person, guiding participants through the theoretical frameworks of the KP ADR Act and practical mediation strategies. The training utilized highly interactive methods, including role plays and exercises, to equip future Additional District & Sessions Judges with the necessary skills to effectively integrate ADR into court practice and reduce case backlogs.These sessions are integral to the Academy's merit-linked training regime, ensuring that judicial officers possess both the legal authority and the managerial competencies required for higher judicial office. The day concluded with the mandatory Trainers’ Evaluation, maintaining the program's rigorous standard of academic assessment and feedback.
