Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar Meets International Delegation of Sixth International Workshop on Leadership and Stability ,Terms Global Conferences Vital for Promoting Pakistan’s Positive Image

ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Acting Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Syedaal Khan Nasar, met with an international delegation participating in the Sixth International Workshop on Leadership and Stability at the Senate of Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Acting Chairman briefed the delegation on the constitutional role of the Senate, parliamentary procedures, the legislative process, and the Upper House’s contribution to democratic stability in Pakistan. He highlighted the Senate’s pivotal role as a symbol of the Federation, ensuring equal representation of all provinces and strengthening the democratic framework through legislation, oversight, and policy guidance.
The delegation comprised representatives from various countries, including members of the business and academic communities, think tank experts, government and military officials, and media professionals. Welcoming the participants, the Acting Chairman underscored the importance of meaningful global dialogue on leadership and stability, noting that contemporary global challenges require cooperation, shared wisdom, and collective action.
He emphasized that international conferences, workshops, and policy dialogues of this nature play a significant role in projecting Pakistan’s positive image globally. He observed that when scholars, policymakers, and experts from across the world visit Pakistan and witness its parliamentary system, democratic processes, and institutional structures firsthand, it reinforces the country’s constructive, responsible, and democratic credentials at the international level.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the Acting Chairman stated that the country believes in dialogue, mutual respect, and constructive engagement at both regional and global levels. He noted that such intellectual and policy-oriented engagements foster trust-building, strengthen bilateral and multilateral ties, and contribute to devising effective strategies to address shared global challenges.
He further stated that Pakistan seeks positive partnerships with the international community, and that Parliament is playing a key role in advancing parliamentary diplomacy. Addressing emerging global challenges related to the economy, climate, and security, he stressed that sustainable solutions can only be achieved through cooperation, dialogue, and collective insight.
On the occasion, Additional Secretary Senate, Ms. Rabia Anwar, provided a detailed briefing to the delegation on the functions and powers of the Senate, stages of the legislative process, the role of Standing Committees, the method of election of Senators, and the administrative structure of the Senate Secretariat. She also responded comprehensively to participants’ queries.
The delegation was later taken on a guided tour of the Senate Museum, where they were apprised of Pakistan’s parliamentary history, its evolutionary milestones, and key legislative achievements. The participants also visited the Senate Hall and observed live proceedings of the House, gaining firsthand insight into parliamentary traditions and procedures.
Concluding the meeting, Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar termed the delegation’s visit to Pakistan a welcome development and expressed hope that it would further strengthen Pakistan’s positive image internationally and open new avenues for future cooperation. Members of the delegation appreciated the comprehensive briefing and thanked the Senate Secretariat for its guidance and hospitality.
