A grand tree plantation ceremony was held at Central Jail Peshawar under the Ehsaas Shajar Program.

Which was held in the light of the special instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi.

Peshawar:(Special Correspondent)According to Global Times Media Europe, a grand tree plantation ceremony was organized in Central Jail Peshawar under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s “Ehsaas-e-Shajar” program, which was held in the light of special instructions from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi. The aim of this campaign was to contribute fully to the government’s target of planting one million trees in a single day. On this occasion, Inspector General of Prisons Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rehan Gul Khattak, specially participated. The Pakistan Day cake was also cut on March 23 and this national campaign was formally inaugurated by planting a sapling with his own hands. This campaign is not limited to Central Jail Peshawar alone but is being continued in all the prisons of the entire province in a coordinated and systematic manner. In this regard, a tree plantation campaign was formally launched in all the prisons and offices of the province under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prisons Department, in which all the officers and staff participated enthusiastically. This collective effort gave a clear and positive message of environmental protection and full implementation of the government’s vision by the Prisons Department.  During the ceremony, a cake was also cut on the occasion of Pakistan Day, in which the prison staff participated enthusiastically. On this occasion, special prayers were also offered for the security, progress and prosperity of the beloved homeland.  The Inspector General of Prisons said that the biggest challenges facing our country at present are climate change and overpopulation, and there is an urgent need to overcome them. He further said that the tree plantation campaign was carried out vigorously in all our prisons from Chitral to Parachinar and from Mansehra to DI Khan. The Inspector General of Prisons also thanked Secretary Forest and Environment Junaid Khan and his team who played a very important role in making this campaign successful by providing saplings on time. Similarly, he appreciated the efforts of all the superintendents of prisons who made full preparations at a very short notice and made this campaign successful. At the end of the ceremony, a pledge was expressed that the tree plantation campaign would be continued on a regular basis so that the foundation of a clean, green and safe Pakistan could be laid.
