IG Prisons KPK Rehan Gul Khattak visited Central Jail Peshawar.

Peshawar:(Special Correspondent) According to Global Times Media Europe, Inspector General Prisons Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Rehan Gul Khattak paid a special visit to Central Jail Peshawar and participated in Iftar with the prisoners. On this occasion, DIG Peshawar Region Mr. Baitullah Khan was also present. Superintendent Central Jail Peshawar Waseem Khan welcomed him. The Inspector General sat with the prisoners in a very pleasant atmosphere and had a communal Iftar. On this occasion, he addressed the prisoners and gave them a message of patience, reformation and hope for a better future. He emphasized that prison is not just a place of punishment but also an opportunity for reformation and starting a new life. During his address, he also announced a two-month special amnesty for the prisoners, which the prisoners expressed their happiness and gratitude. During the visit, he listened attentively to the problems of both the jail staff and the prisoners. Some problems were resolved on the spot, while instructions were issued to the concerned officers to take immediate steps to resolve other issues so that the administrative affairs and facilities of the jail could be further improved. Later, he also visited the DIG Regional Prison Office Peshawar where he reviewed various administrative matters and issued some important instructions regarding improvement in the system, discipline and provision of facilities. The Inspector General’s Iftar with the prisoners and listening to their problems is a manifestation of the fact that in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Khan Afridi, the Prisons Department is taking practical steps for reform, humanity and provision of a better environment, so that the prisoners can return to the society and start a new life as a positive and responsible citizen.
