Italy:(International Desk)According to a foreign news agency, Global Times Media Europe Chief Executive Ikramuddin said that women are a symbol of society’s strength, dignity and progress. He said that a safe, civilized and developed society is one where women are respected, protected and have equal opportunities.  Speaking to the media on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, Global Times Media Europe Chief Executive Ikramuddin said, "Let's pledge on International Women's Day to consider the respect, protection and empowerment of women as our collective responsibility and create a society where every woman feels safe and dignified." He said that women have played an important role in the development of society, strengthening democracy and promoting human rights in every era, which is commendable. He said that today, on the occasion of International Women's Day, we reiterate our resolve to continue our struggle for the empowerment of women, protection of their rights and their dignified position in society.
