Yildirim: OSCE Minsk Group effectively contributed to maintaining occupation of Azerbaijani territories.

According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The OSCE Minsk Group, throughout its years of activity, failed to ensure the enforcement of international law and in practice contributed to the continued occupation of Azerbaijani territories, becoming a symbol of double standards and ineffective diplomacy, member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Fatma Yildirim told The global times Europe media.According to her, despite the existence of UN Security Council resolutions confirming Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, the international community never demonstrated real political will to ensure their implementation.This was a clear manifestation of double standards and a selective approach in the system of international relations. The co-chairs' thesis that ‘there is no military solution to the conflict' in practice was aimed at preserving the status quo," the MP emphasized.Yildirim noted that the Azerbaijani people never accepted the occupation of their lands, while the political determination of President Ilham Aliyev proved that international law must function not only on paper.The 44-day Patriotic War fully exposed years of fictitious mediation and simulated diplomacy," she said.The MP also recalled that during the period of occupation, Azerbaijani cities and villages were destroyed, mosques were desecrated, and historical and cultural heritage was destroyed in the presence of OSCE Minsk Group mediators.She added that illegal settlement and construction policies were carried out in the occupied territories, while no serious response came from the mediators.People were unable for years to visit the graves of their loved ones, many cemeteries were destroyed. This was not only an act of vandalism against Azerbaijan, but also a crime against spiritual values," Yildirim stressed.She concluded that today the OSCE Minsk Group is perceived as a symbol of diplomatic failure, hypocrisy, and double standards.Azerbaijan, on the other hand, has gone down in history as a state that restored international law and justice through its own efforts, political will, and national unity," the MP noted.
