Provincial Consultation on Policy on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Balochistan
Quetta:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,Today, the Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR), in collaboration with the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women (BCSW), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and UN Women, convened the fourth provincial consultation in Quetta to advance Pakistan’s National Policy on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG). Building on consultations held in Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the dialogue brought together government departments, civil society, UN agencies, and development partners to ensure provincial perspectives shape the national policy.Technical inputs from line departments, civil society representatives, and UN sister agencies helped identify priorities and strengthen coordinated, survivor-centred responses to violence against women and girls. This long-overdue policy is a significant step toward fulfilling Pakistan’s commitments under CEDAW and the Beijing Platform for Action (BpFA).
