KARACHI:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,PSF Chairman Visits Karachi’s Unique FABLAB and Research Institutions, Reinforcing Commitment to Science, Innovation and Youth Empowerment
Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Akmal, accompanied by Assistant Director Ms. Afsheen, visited the state-of-the-art FABLAB established by Pakistan Science Foundation at NED University, Government Comprehensive Higher Secondary School for Boys, Azizabad, District Central Karachi, and Comprehensive Girls Secondary School in Karachi for renovation, equipment and their future effectiveness for the students training in modern science subjects. Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Senior Principal Prof. Uzma Naeem, who briefed the Chairman on educational and technological activities being carried out through the FABLAB facility. During visit, Prof. Dr. Akmal appreciated the unique role of FABLAB in equipping students with modern technological skills and fostering innovation, creativity, and problem-solving abilities among young learners. He emphasized that such facilities are vital for preparing the youth to compete in the rapidly evolving global technological landscape and align with Pakistan’s vision for a knowledge-based economy. He assured the intime completion of the lab facility and teachers’ trainings on priority.
The Chairman also visited Marine Biology Centre at the University of Karachi, where he reviewed students’ research work on various ongoing projects especially on fish species in the marine center and their significance to Pakistan’s resources and economy. He interacted with researchers and staff, appreciating their efforts and encouraging them to pursue impactful scientific research. Prof. Akmal also visited HEJ Research Institute at the University of Karachi and attended 32nd executive Board of Governor’s Meeting. Thereafter, he invited all projects P.I’s and monitored PSF-supported research at leading various universities in Karachi, including HEJ Research Institute, Aga Khan University, Dow University, University of Karachi, and other nearby Universities, meet and discuss with PI’s the projects status and expected outcomes. Dr. Akmal also attended the ceremony to encourage the various PI’s of research Projects with awarding certificates to PIs having many projects and successfully completing the set objectives at NED University of Engineering & Technology. He held detailed discussions with individual Principal Investigators (PIs) and research teams at the Agha Khan Medical University Karachi regarding the current status, achievements, challenges, and expected outcomes of their projects. The Chairman stressed the importance of translating research into practical solutions with solid outcomes to be table under resource limiting situation from their contributions to the national development and socioeconomic progress. 
The institutions expressed their sincere gratitude to Pakistan Science Foundation and its Chairman for providing opportunities that enable students and researchers to learn, innovate, and compete at international standards through initiatives such as the FABLAB and research support programs. All PI’s appreciated this effort of the Chairman in PSF history to come across from office to Labs at their respective institutions and encourage their sincere efforts in contributing for the promotion of science in Pakistan. The visit reaffirmed Pakistan Science Foundation, Ministry of Scince and Technology’s commitment to promoting science education, innovation, research excellence, and technological advancement across the country.
