Chairman Senate Reaffirms Pakistan–Bulgaria Friendship

ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani met with H.E. Irena Genadieva Gancheva, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan, at Parliament House today to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, economic engagement, and people-to-people ties.
Chairman Gilani congratulated Ambassador Gancheva on the successful completion of her diplomatic assignment and appreciated her valuable contribution to enhancing the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Bulgaria.
During the meeting, the Chairman reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Bulgaria and the European Union. He welcomed Bulgaria’s full membership of the Schengen Area, extended best wishes on the adoption of the Euro, and reiterated Pakistan’s support for Bulgaria’s aspirations to join the OECD.Emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, Chairman Gilani called for greater engagement between legislators of both countries and highlighted the role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in strengthening bilateral cooperation.The Chairman also briefed the Ambassador on the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace, and the Senate’s initiatives for youth engagement, women’s empowerment, minority rights, education, and inclusive governance.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Gilani thanked Ambassador Gancheva for her dedicated service in strengthening Pakistan–Bulgaria relations and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow in the years ahead.
