Chairman, BoG, OPF Chairs Zoom Meeting with UK-Based Overseas Pakistani-Kashmiris on the Prevailing Situation in Azad Jammu & Kashmir

Islamabad:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman, Board of Governors, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), chaired a Zoom meeting with prominent UK-based Overseas Pakistani-Kashmiris hailing from Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) to deliberate on the prevailing situation in the region and explore a peaceful and amicable way forward.The meeting was arranged by Mr. Zahid Mughal, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, from London. Prominent members of the Kashmiri diaspora participated in the discussion and shared their views on the current situation.The participants unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to peace, stability, and democratic values in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. During the discussion, it was observed that while the Government had already addressed a substantial number of the demands raised by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JACC), the continuation of protests and confrontation was not conducive to the larger interests of the people of AJK. The participants emphasized that all outstanding issues should be resolved through dialogue and constitutional means.The participants expressed full confidence in the leadership of Syed Qamar Raza and unanimously requested him to use his good offices to help defuse the prevailing situation, facilitate dialogue among the stakeholders, and contribute towards the restoration of lasting peace and normalcy in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.In his remarks, Syed Qamar Raza thanked all participants for their valuable suggestions and for the confidence they had reposed in him. He observed that the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir are patriotic Pakistanis who have always rendered immense sacrifices for the national cause. He stressed that unity, patience, and mutual understanding are the need of the hour.The Chairman appealed to all those who have influence within the JACC leadership to play a constructive role by encouraging meaningful dialogue and reconciliation. He emphasized that the prevailing situation is not in the larger national interest and called upon all stakeholders to rise above differences and work together for a peaceful, permanent, and mutually acceptable solution.Syed Qamar Raza reiterated that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving disputes and preserving peace, stability, and public welfare. He expressed confidence that, through collective wisdom and sincere efforts, the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir would overcome the present challenges and continue to contribute towards a strong, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan.
