Ambassador Dr Tarig Bakheet Meets the Adviser to the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Islamabad
Islamabad:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, and Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to Afghanistan, Ambassador Dr Tarig Ali Bakheet, met with H.E. Dr Tahani Nouri Al-Turkit, Adviser to the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Ninth Session of the Ministerial Conference on Women, held in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, from 12 to 13 July 2026.The meeting featured fruitful discussions and an exchange of views on key issues relating to women’s empowerment and the strengthening of their role in society, as well as a review of the common challenges facing women in the Islamic world.The two sides also discussed mechanisms to strengthen joint cooperation between the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Gulf Cooperation Council in the field of supporting and building women’s economic capacity, and developing policies that ensure their effective participation in sustainable development, in line with the principles and objectives of both sides.
