SHARP Delegation Visits Federal Judicial Academy to Explore Areas of Institutional Collaboration

ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,A delegation from the Society for Human Rights and Prisoners’ Aid (SHARP) visited the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) to discuss potential areas of institutional collaboration in judicial education and professional capacity building. During the visit, the delegation met with the FJA team comprising Syed Muhammad Haroon, Senior Director (Academics & Programmes); Mr. Mahmood Azam, Director Instructions-III; and Mr. Muhammad Naveed Khan, Additional Director, to exchange views on matters of mutual interest.During the meeting, the SHARP delegation shared an overview of its ongoing initiatives and expressed its interest in collaborating with the Academy in areas including gender justice, human rights, access to justice, the protection of vulnerable groups, and professional capacity building. The delegation also expressed its desire to explore the possibility of organizing capacity-building programmes for female lawyers through the FJA. The proposals were discussed in principle, and it was noted that any future collaboration would be considered in accordance with the Academy’s mandate, institutional priorities, and applicable procedures.Welcoming the delegation, faculty members briefed the participants on the mandate of the FJA and its ongoing efforts to strengthen judicial education through quality training, research, and institutional engagement. He appreciated SHARP’s interest in engaging with the Academy and emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration in advancing judicial education and professional excellence.The meeting concluded with a constructive exchange of views on areas of mutual interest. As a gesture of goodwill, the SHARP delegation presented commemorative souvenirs to Mr. Hayat Ali Shah, Director General, FJA and the Faculty Members, marking the cordial conclusion of the visit.
