Meeting Held Between the European Union Delegation and the KP Prisons Department.

Peshawar:(Special Representative)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,A meeting was held at Serena Hotel, Peshawar, between a delegation of the European Union, headed by Ms. Ouna Kelly, accompanied by Dr. Sebastian Lorien, and the Inspector General of Prisons, Mr. Rehan Gul Khattak. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mudassir Javed, CEO of SHARP Pakistan, Deputy Inspector General (Judicial & Security) Mr. Amin Shoaib, and Deputy Inspector General (Finance & Planning) Mr. Hashmat Ullah.The Inspector General of Prisons welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the European Union's continued support for the reform and digitalization initiatives undertaken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prisons Department. He briefed the delegation on the ongoing reforms being implemented within the department under the directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Sohail Khan Afridi, and the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Prisons, Mr. Iftikhar Ullah Jan.The Inspector General also apprised the delegation of the training programs being conducted for prison staff at the Prisons Staff Training Academy, Haripur. The delegation appreciated the reforms undertaken by the Prisons Department for the welfare and rehabilitation of prisoners and reaffirmed the European Union's commitment to continuing its support for the KP Prisons Department through SHARP Pakistan, with the aim of further strengthening and enhancing the effectiveness of the ongoing prison reforms.
