HEC Pakistan hosted a send-off ceremony for 209 Pakistani students awarded scholarships under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme to study at leading Hungarian universities.

ISLAMABAD:(Special Representative) According to Global times News Agancy Europe,Chairman HEC Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Executive Director Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Deputy Head of Mission Dr. Dora Gunsberger, DG HRD/GE Ms. Aayesha Ikram and other senior officials attended the ceremony alongside parents and alumni.Addressing the scholars, Chairman HEC urged them to respect Hungarian laws, embrace academic and cultural diversity, and return with knowledge and experiences to contribute to Pakistan’s development.With 26,000 applicants this year, the 2026 cohort brings the total number of Pakistani Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship awardees to 1,636 since 2016.HEC thanked the Government and Embassy of Hungary for their continued support in expanding higher education opportunities for Pakistani students.
