Independence Day of Pakistan Celebrated with Patriotic Fervor in New York

New York:(International News Desk)According to Global times News Agancy Europe,The 79th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with national pride and patriotic fervor at a flag-hoisting ceremony jointly organized by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations and the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York. Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, hoisted the national flag in the presence of Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai, officers and staff of the Mission and Consulate General, and their families.Special messages of the President of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister on the occasion of Independence Day were read out. The messages paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the leaders and workers of the Pakistan Movement, while reaffirming the nation’s resolve to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and continue its journey towards peace, stability and economic prosperity.Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, in his remarks, highlighted Pakistan’s resilience, national unity and commitment to peace, development and prosperity. He underscored the importance of collective efforts to realize the vision of a strong, peaceful and progressive Pakistan and paid tribute to all those who had rendered sacrifices for the country.In his remarks, Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai emphasized the enduring relevance of Quaid-e-Azam’s guiding principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline, stressing that independence was not only a historic achievement but also a responsibility to be carried forward by successive generations. He paid special tribute to the Pakistani-American community, noting its outstanding contributions through professional excellence, entrepreneurship, investment, remittances, philanthropy and public service. He described overseas Pakistanis as an invaluable national asset and an important bridge strengthening relations between Pakistan and the United States.The ceremony concluded with the cutting of the Independence Day cake and prayers for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
